By Train:

Adamstown Railway Station, located on the Dublin-Kildare Rail Line is sometimes called the Kildare Suburban or Kildare Commuter line, provides a frequent commuter service.  Stations served along this route include Kildare, Newbridge, Salins & Naas, Hazelhatch & Celbridge, Adamstown, Clondalkin & Fonthill, Cherry Orchard & Parkwest, Dublin Heuston.

The 2009 Iarnrod Eireann Rail Timetables schedules 17 out bound and 15 inbound trains stopping at Adamstown on weekdays.

• Five trains operate between Adamstown and Heuston Station in the morning peak hours (between 7am-9am) and four trains operate between Heuston Station and Adamstown in the evening peak hours (between 4pm-7pm).
  
• Journey time between Adamstown and Heuston Station takes approximately 15 minutes.

By Bus:

There are currently two (2) bus services serving Adamstown the 151 and the 25X.

The 151 bus service runs between the Dublin Docklands and Adamstown. This provides good transport links to the major employment centre, hospitals, third level institutions and to the wider public transport network. The service is regular, operating every 10 minutes on weekdays and approximately every 15 minutes on weekends. The 151 route begins at the Docklands Train Station and terminates at Adamstown Station, via the City Centre, Clondalkin and Grange Castle. The full range of stops are listed below:-
